FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Norfolk, VA- June 17, 2013- Brad Scott, founder and president of Cetan Corps, was awarded the new Military Veteran Entrepreneur Award at this year’s 2013 Entrepreneurial Excellence Awards.

The Military Veteran award was created to recognize the valuable role that veterans play in the local economy, especially those who start and grow companies that go beyond government contracting to serve commercial clients. Scott was awarded for his past service in the military, and for his current effort to diversify the local economy.

Scott founded Cetan Corp in 2007, eight years after his honorable discharge from the military. Cetan Corp specializes in enterprise software solutions for government and commercial organizations. Striving to build trusting relationships with customers, Cetan Corp focuses with helping customers align their IT solutions to their businesses.

In 2007, Cetan Corp started as a single employee home-based business and generated revenues of $300,000. Today, Cetan Corp employs twenty workers and revenues exceed $11.5 million. The company serves commercial clients including Sony, IBM, Cargill, Wendy’s, Food Lion and Overstock.com.

The success of the company can be attributed to the lessons that Scott learned during his years of military service.

“In the military, there is a lot of responsibility put on you at a young age,” Scott said. “Being able to lead at a young age helped me to propel myself above my peers and handle stress.”

Scott joined the Virginia National Guard while still in high school at the age of 17. He later became a full-time infantry soldier in the Army and a recruiter before returning back to the National Guard. His military career ended in 1999.

Other honored entrepreneurs were Scott Bisciotti of Command Post Technologies Inc., Martin A. Joseph of 360IT Partners, John E. Karafa of Leebcor Services, LLC, Louis Ochave of reQuire LLC, John Owens of Prevailance Inc., Brad Scott of Cetan Corp., E.J. Strelitz of The Dump/Haynes Furniture, Bruce Thompson of Gold Key PHR Hotels and Resorts and Jim White of Jim White Fitness & Nutrition Studios
